I find this really frustrating, it's such a waste of resources and it makes me wonder how the quality can vary, although I'm fairly certain that another member could enlighten me on this. Lots of new house, funk and disco records like to play at faux-rawness, leaving certain elements underproduced and untouched. According to composer Hans Zimmer, the only information he was given before having to come up with the basic idea, in one day, for the score for ‘Interstellar’, was an envelope from director Christopher Nolan with a note saying “Once we become parents, we can’t help but look at ourselves through the eyes of our children. Zimmer and Nolan planned to move away from the Batman Trilogy's scores and come up with a unique one. Every bar end is garnished, every edge ornamented, be it by synth flourishes, telephoned-in vocals, or cheeky fills.

Hands down the best of all the different versions—I’ve owned the box set, which was trash, and the original black vinyl MOV which was great, but my copy was pretty noisy and had a factory scratch that ruined one track.No surface noise (after cleaning); I have found a couple of pops on Side A, so took an extra couple of minutes to clean it and that was it! Not sure what is up w/ their quality control being so bad but my record came w/ smudges and marks all over it. The titan of soundtracks himself Hans Zimmer may be best appreciated in a multiplex over the sound of crunching popcorn, but some of his compositions transcend the silver screen to become engrossing listening experiences on their own terms.

Don't know if anyone else had this issue, my copy also has a ton of Background noise evident throughout. First off I hate the PVC sleeve it comes in, the gatefold is hard to pull out sometimes as it gets stuck to the PVC sleeve.Listening for the first time now… there is really quite some surface noise… hope that gets better after 1-2 runs. Pressed at audiophile quality on double clear vinyl, this might well be the finest way to experience Zimmer's multi-faceted score as it veers from ascendant synth suites to plaintive piano passages and more patient, subtle moments of reflection. I know RTI has had several shutdowns over the past year due to COVID and I can only assume that QC suffered from that. Zimmer conducted 45 scoring sessions for Interstellar, which was three times more than for Inception.
