Description

This is an excellent choice for gamers, as it has customizable RGB backlighting, a comfortable wrist rest, and the tactile switches on our unit offer a light and responsive gaming experience. The Logitech G513 is an upgraded version of the Logitech G413 that includes a wrist rest and full RGB backlighting.

What I don't like about the G513 is that it requires two USB ports, one for the keyboard and one for the USB passthrough. Your transactions and personal data will be held in a PCIDSS accredited system using secure encryption technologies. While this board used to be available with Romer-G Tactile and Linear switches, it's now only available at most retailers with GX Blue, Red, and Brown switches.

Convenient USB passthrough port makes it a snap to plug in your mouse, flash drive or phone for direct data transmission or charging. Thanks to the boxy nature of the underlying mechanism, each key press actuates evenly and comes to a nearly silent stop. Now, i'm focused on Nintendo Switch, gaming laptops (and the keyboards and mice that come with them), and tracking everything that suggests VR is about to take over our lives. Since it's designed for gaming, the G513 has some programmable keys, customization software, RGB backlighting, and a USB passthrough. This makeover brings around a more fully-featured keyboard in a frame that’s just as compact and streamlined as ever before.

The Logitech's Romer-G and the Das Keyboard's Cherry MX Brown are both switches that provide tactile feedback, but the Romer-G has a shorter pre-travel and a lighter actuation force. We've added a disclaimer in the Backlight Features section of this review after receiving community feedback about the blue LED lights failing sooner than other colors. GX-Blue switches on the other hand would be ideal for typing so I would go with that if typing is what you will be doing most of the time. During that time, I tested on Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Planet Coaster during standard everyday play (fine, I also dabbled in some Lawn Mowing Simulator), and stress-tested speed and response times in CS:GO as well. Its frame is made of both aluminum and plastic that feels sturdy and doesn't show any signs of flex.

The memory foam quickly and fully recovers from pressure, so every use is as comfortable as the first. Of course, one is to power your USB passthrough (located in the top right corner), but it's still worth considering if you're running low on free connections. That said, the Razer provides a better typing experience because the tactile feedback is more distinct and not as mushy as the Logitech. The Logitech G513 was designed to ease the previous generation G413 model into 2018's feature expectations.

Larger keycaps, like the spacebar in particular, don’t suffer from wobble when you’re hitting one side of the bar. The detachable, memory-foam palmrest and premium aluminum-alloy construction make G513 full-featured and best-in-class. On the other hand, the Pyro has onboard memory, but the ROCCAT Swarm software is only available on Windows. Additionally, there are various guides to answer frequently asked questions about mechanical keyboards.
