About this deal

Full of many attractive illustrations that immediately capture the imagination and attention of all who read it. I slowed down when I read it and focused on the relationship between the father and son and on their adventure.

Older children could link this book to the science of cooling down - why do we cool down when we get into cooler water?

It's a lovely gentle read and I found this was a book that held my children's attention most at bedtime. Written by the Brave Bear Trust and published in partnership with Invisible Traffick “Brave” is the first book focusing on the pressing challenge of modern slavery aimed at 8 – 10 years old, and it will allow both parents and teachers to discuss a very sensitive issue in a child-friendly way. The 270gsm card is teamed with an FSC accredited envelope and sealed in a fully compostable PLA cornstarch cello wrap… just pop it in your food waste! With thanks to Helen at Walker Books who provided me with the sample book in exchange for my honest review.

It does this by publishing a range of educational materials and training resources for children, parents and carers, teachers, supportive adults and professionals who work with them.

But what will happen when Little Bear tries to impress his dad by doing a big jump across the rocks? Osos es un libro muy bonito, las ilustraciones son un espectáculo y el mensaje que deja es algo muy motivador, destacó los gestos del osos y el amor en la relación padre e hijo, una lectura que no debe faltar en la librería de los más pequeños! This lovely book captures the languid mood of a hot day along with the easy rhythms of a sweet father-child connection.

The Brave Bear book is a fantastic resource that addresses the complex issue of modern slavery in a suitably age-appropriate and effective way. April 2016 Book of the Month The characters may be bears, but the parent/child relationship depicted in this lovely picture book will be familiar to all readers. He has collaborated with Khayaal Theatre on the collection of funny Islamic folktales 'Riding a Donkey Backwards', and with the ecologist Alex Morss on the nature books 'WINTER SLEEP', 'BUSY SPRING', 'WILD SUMMER' and 'FUNNY BUMS FREAKY BEAKS AND OTHER INCREDIBLE CREATURE FEATURES'. I really liked Emily Hughes' facings - the young bear is so cute with his 'almost curly' fur, the forest scenes with a red/orange sky quite beautiful. The support and communication we have received from Jon, Luke and Andy at Brave Bear has been top-tier.
