About this deal

I used this template to assist me in making my dad a custom monopoly board and while it was a very long process it looked amazing !

It is a transition that has been echoed by all the mews in all the side streets of central London, as technology inserted cars and then spiralling land costs inserted people where once horses lodged. Yet the original purpose of the game was not to encourage players into a lifetime of avarice and property speculation. Instead, a 10 takes us to the Strand, and another two gives us a walk east as it transforms into Fleet Street. In 1973, San Francisco State University Professor Ralph Anspach took his hatred of the game to a new level. A new infographic from loan provider West One has given the original Monopoly board a makeover to demonstrate the true value of the London locations on the board — all the way from Old Kent Road to Mayfair. The list above only includes the streets, not all of the squares on the board as there’s also stations, utilities, chance and community chest, the Go space, Free Parking, Go to Jail and Jail. Since Vine Street has no pubs, a typical Monopoly pub crawl visits the connecting Swallow Street instead.

There's a buzz on Whitechapel Road in the middle of the morning with the street market in full swing, food and brightly coloured clothes and cloths piled high on the stalls along the north side of the road.Note: the table excludes the non-specific "Go", "Jail", "Electric Company", "Free Parking", "Water Works" and "Go To Jail" squares. Liverpool Street Station is a railway station located in the northeastern corner of the City of London.

The first of the four stations on the UK Monopoly board, King’s Cross is the busiest of all of the London Monopoly board stations, yet only the tenth busiest railway station in London. The architect, John Gwynn, first suggested turning the mews into a public square in his forgotten 1766 book, London and Westminster Improved (which also conceived of Regent Street and Waterloo Bridge), although work did not start until the 1820s.Had we included them, we'd have chosen Battersea Power Station (electricity) and the former New River company (water) at Sadler's Wells. The joke inspired the satirical Cracked article, If Monopoly Was Honest, as well as a slew of internet memes.

While the original Monopoly board was based on streets in Atlantic City, the UK Monopoly board features streets in London. We are standing in front of the stretch of three great members' clubs – the Athenaeum, the Travellers and the Reform, names that summon a bygone age. They have been here since the end of the 17th century, when St James becomes an important parish with the development of St James Square. The property colours and values remain the same, but players will usually say pounds instead of dollars when talking about Monopoly money. Phillips was a follower of Henry George, an anti-monopolist tax reformer, who argued in favour of a "single tax" on land ownership.
