Description

The LC130 has a totally different shape it is very wide so when the power goes out we put it on its big wide end and pick the brightness level we need and it lights up the room, for all the time we need it. The original LC40 is my EDC purely because it’s smaller, and so being smaller doesn’t so much make my EDC bag as large. The brightness suffers because of this and the houses are not as well illuminated as it would be using my go-to MT6.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment in the section below and I will do my best to answer them. Disclosure: We are a professional review site that receives compensation from the companies whose products we review.Equipped with a USB charging port, the Anker LC90 offers the convenience of recharging the flashlight without the need for disposable batteries.

Every review you read should disclose any potential biases that might reasonably influence the results. The information also allows you to draw your own conclusions about how well a manufacturer has represented its product. I feel it performs best in wide zoom to flood an area with light, although you do suffer from that dull spot in the middle of the beam. If you think of a bare lightbulb, it may have a high lumen measurement because it puts out a lot of light. In addition to that I keep one or two large ones in the cars (can be use for more than lighting things up) and a few in the barn.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Some people might say that Anker printed the information in this way to intentionally mislead consumers. Advertising a product as having passed certain criteria when it has not been tested to that standard is a serious problem.

To test the impact resistance of a flashlight, I use a method similar to that employed in the FL1 standard. The light beam can reach a maximum distance of 200 meters, ensuring visibility in dark environments. While the data and tables above help to explain how the flashlight performs, the following photos actually show you. The LC-90 is (obviously) much brighter than the LC-40, but for personal use I’ve found LC-40 plenty bright on many different occasions. If you were to open up my gear bag you will find a small fixed beam flashlight, a small pen light, and an adjustable rechargeable light.

I really don’t know why Anker doesn’t shout about this and quote the high power run time in their spec list. This means that you cannot keep the Anker flashlight on the charger and have it instantly ready for an emergency.I don’t regret the LC90 purchase but let’s put it this way, I had the LC40 and LC90 on the way out to take for anyone. Move between the modes by half pressing power button, release and half press again, repeat until you get to the required mode then fully press the button.
