Quite honestly, anytime I strike my opponent or set up a grapple, it feels as though the flow of the match becomes stunted – this could be due to dodgy performance on Nintendo Switch, and it may prove to be a better experience on another platform.

What I can say is, AEW: Fight Forever delivers one of my favorite gameplay experiences. In a lot of ways, AEWFF plays like a spiritual successor to WWF No Mercy with a lot of innovative enhancements to the classic AKI-like mechanics. The gameplay could use some fine tuning, but is absolutely worth trying out and, in my opinion, delivered EXACTLY what I expected from AEW's first video game entry.

Sadly, it is looking unlikely AEW will put out a second game to right these wrongs, which is a shame as there were some diamonds in the rough that could have been polished up into something special.
