About this deal

The most common problem with tvboxes is that most of their Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices are not supported by Linux Kernel. Even the same model may have a different Wi-Fi chip installed depending on the revision of the main-board (usually also combined with RAM and disk size version). So at worst, you may need to use an Ethernet connection only.

WeChip has been making Android TV boxes for over a decade and has since expanded out to projectors and Windows mini-PC’s. The Mi box was one of the first Android TV boxes to be sold in a mainstream retailer (Wal-Mart) in the United States.

X88 Pro 10 Stock Firmware ROM (Flash File)

Choose " Burn image to flash" from the menu, then select the destination device (usually mmcblk2) and the image to burn; I was able to catch this at 115200 baud-rate during reboot. Seems that at some point the baud-rate is changed...

The X88 Pro 10 Android TV Box is one of the most exciting new TV boxes on the market for two reasons. First, it is one of the few boxes that is already offering the new Android 11.0 operating system, which promises to enable a lot of additional features in time. Second, it is about 20% cheaper than most comparable Android TV boxes on the market. Connect the switched-off device to the PC by using the USB cable. Make sure all drivers are installed. The most common opinion you can find about rk3318 tv-boxes is: don't buy them. They tend to overheat and do not work stably (in particular USB3.0 port which affects also rk3328). But we will use this model for other purposes than running Android TV and playing 4K movies. And despite the problems encountered, I am very positively surprised by the final effect.

Connecting the Android TV Box

AV Access - works fine on USB3.0 despite some errors in dmesg, but not with included USB cable, replace it with reliable USB3.1 gen 2 one meter cable. Because in Linux that grabber can not capture at 30FPS (it's using 60FPS everytime) use following grabber settings for very good result: software frame rate decimation = 2, enable quater frame mode, enable auto-resume. Without these settings CPU usage and latency will be quite high. Av Access doesn't work on USB2.0. Overall not the best choice for that tv-box

Select your wireless network. The Android TV box can only connect to a network wirelessly. Make sure you’re in range of your wireless network. x88_pro_10_rk3318.dts: Warning (simple_bus_reg): /regulators/regulator@1: missing or empty reg/ranges property DISCLAIMER (PLEASE READ): everything you can find in this thread (binaries, texts, code snippets, etc...) are provided AS-IS and are not part of official Armbian project. For this reason not people from Armbian project nor myself are responsible for misuse or loss of functionality of hardware. Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI port on the Android TV box. There are plenty of ports on the side of the box, such as USB 2.0 port USB 3.0 port, SPDIF digital audio out, Gigabit Ethernet port, DC, and HDMI 2.1 with support for resolutions up to 8k, And finally, a TF slot. Find the HDMI port.

The firmware file is the software that will be installed on the device to update its operating system, fix bugs, and add new features. The X88 Pro 10 starts with an RK3318 Quad-Core Chipset, which is a very respectable chipset, though not absolutely top of the range. But considering that the chipset is one of the main factors in determining price, this is why this box is so affordable. And the chipset is certainly more than powerful enough to run all required features.
