About this deal

Two years later when he rammed a colleague’s car after she spurned his advances, police wrote it up as a traffic accident. Lynn and Steve Georgia's parents questioned the events leading to their daughter's death at the time Steve was a highly commented murder squad detective serving with West Mercia Police the same force that had had Reynolds in there sights years before their daughters death.

Heartbroken mother opens up about porn fanatic murderer who killed teen daughter acting out snuff movie Most ReadThe only part I didn't like was the way that the mother thought that the killer did everything to spite her. I understand about the cell phone, but the court proceedings or the appeal was NOT to spite her and her family. Or to even extend their pain, it was the killers selfish reasons to exploit the court system. That spirit was snuffed out when 17-year-old Georgia was lured to the home of college pal Jamie Reynolds on May 26, 2013, on the pretence of helping with a photoshoot of a fake hanging. Instead the scenario was horrifyingly real. In 2011 Reynolds is reported to police for reversing his car into a girl who spurned his advances. No link is made to the existing information on him

i can’t ever put myself in the shoes of georgia’s family and all i can say is that i admire the strength they bring to the fight for justice for their daughter.Steve Georgia’s dad was a highly commended murder squad detective serving with West Mercia Police and after Georgias death it became obvious things did not add up as the case unraveled. Both Steve and Lynn began to question the events that led up to their daughter’s death. Very early on they found out that Jamie was obsessed with Snuff movies especially if hanging was involved. Sadly, this was how he had killed Georgia. Lynn and Steve found out that Renolds had been in the system years before he murdered Georgia when he loured a girl in his class to his house and tried to strangle her but she got away. We learn what an amazing girl Georgia was her love for life and for the people around her and the powerful strength of the family's quest for justice. But when Georgia’s devastated mother, Lynnette, and father, Steve, questioned the events leading to their daughter’s death, they discovered it was also entirely preventable.

West Mercia Police claimed there was “no causal link” between its officers’ actions in dealing with Reynolds in 2008 and Georgia’s murder five years later. I appreciated the authors insights into what she was feeling, how her family was handling things, etc.Speaking after the case Mr Williams described her as "very good all-round sportswoman and loved the outdoor life". I was dreading him getting anything less,” says Lynnette. “I couldn’t stand the possibility he might one day be walking the streets again, or I might turn a corner and come face to face with him. Happiness is something that has been in short supply for this family since the murder of younger daughter Georgia 10 years ago this month. On June 14, Telford was brought to a standstill as a motorbike escort led Georgia’s funeral cortege. The night before, her family lined the route with bows in orange and turquoise, her favourite colours. Physical pain I can stand, but I’ve never known mental pain like this. It’s torture, years of torture.”

If you have any interest in True Crime and/or any interest in police and policing, this book must be added to your library. At first, I thought the book was just a typical true crime story, but as I got further into it, I found myself getting more and more emotionally invested in Georgia's story. However, it was easy to forget that it was a true story as I found myself being swept away by the amazing life she led up until that fateful day. The authors do an excellent job of portraying Georgia as a real person with hopes, dreams, and a bright future ahead of her. It is truly heartbreaking to think about what she went through and what her family must have endured. Thanks to Ad Lib Publishers, Netgalley and the authors for an ARC of this book. I am unbiased leaving this review voluntarily.

This is an extremely raw account of an unimaginable tragedy and I felt my heart go out to Lynette, Steve and Scarlett and Georgia. Having said that, because of its emotion, it was sometimes difficult to read.
