About this deal

I've previously watched some of his documentaries but I had no idea he had made so many or was involved in so many cases. In this gripping and unflinching book, Mark reveals how he has pieced together these complex cases. Through tireless research and perseverance, Mark takes us on a journey of discovery gathering and pursuing new evidence, earning the trust of silent witnesses and sharing the personal toll this extraordinary job takes on him. Moray Media CIC is a social enterprise registered in Scotland SC661634. Registered Office: 20 Tolbooth Street, Forres IV36 1PH. Shows like Showtime's Dexter offered a deep and personal look into the mind of the titular character. Dexter was presented as an anti-hero who hunted down others like him while shows like The Following feature a look into both the minds of the killer(s) and the people hunting them down. The list goes on from here, featuring some great and thrilling series—and that's excluding the bounty of serial killer movies out there.

BBC iPlayer - Dark Land: Hunting the Killers - Series 2: 1 BBC iPlayer - Dark Land: Hunting the Killers - Series 2: 1

Set in the late '70s, this engrossing series delves into the nascent field of criminal profiling, as FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench, played by Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, interview imprisoned serial killers to comprehend their motives. Featuring an authentic, cerebral approach to both the murderers and the investigators, this David Fincher-directed masterpiece presents a fascinating dissection of the minds that changed law enforcement forever. Mark Williams-Thomas has written a very good book and is honest in his thoughts and how he works towards a result, if he is able to. Very few murderers are mentioned and the book is mainly geared towards victims and their families. When he went missing, the rumour was that he had been murdered, but where was his body? A burnt-out car was found, but no sign of Danny Dyke. Williams-Thomas is an ex-rozzer who blew the lid on jimmy Savile, so he has greater dispensation than most to be critical of the police. Which he is, in a libel-skirting way, He also talks about his time in the police force and how this has helped him progress in investigations. Of course, he mentions the Jimmy Savile case as that is how he came to public attention.

This is an interesting look at various cases through the eyes of a dedicated investigator. Williams-Thomas makes much of his non-partisanship but he walks the walk, walking through some very dark places with families crazed and worn by grief. In 1939, four-year-old Joyce Cox vanished whilst on her way home. Her killer has never been caught. Can the Dark Land team help her family to solve an eight-decades-old mystery? More No offense to anyone but I believe there is a certain group out there lobbying against this guy, I don't know for what reason, but this surely is very unprofessional to allow your personal grudges creep into the professional front. My Book: Hunting Killers (Purchase a Signed Book)

Yes, we indeed have seen a lot of rescue missions but what makes this so different is that very few were pulled off by brave men from both sides (obviously enemies of each other by worldly rules) for the right cause. Off course this doesn't happen in real life, but seriously were you here to witness a documentary on war? There's something about a serial killer that deeply fascinates and terrorizes all of us... except maybe serial killers. Watching a truly deranged person commit acts that would otherwise be unthinkable is just one of those things people want to see, and Hollywood has answered the call in both film and television. On the small screen, TV shows about serial killers have found a way to depict these monsters as either demons who must be stopped or even as anti-heroes the viewer can't help but cheer on in their endeavors - or become fascinated by, like with Joe Goldberg in You. Whatever your preference in watching serial killers, there are plenty of amazing series to watch on television. Mark Williams-Thomas just about gets things right. That he takes on investigations after the police have failed tells us quite a lot already (we're not dealing with a shrinking violet here), but he's not overly egotistical either. This anthology series showcases multiple storylines centered around troubled detectives investigating gruesome, confounding serial killings. Each season immerses viewers into meticulously crafted atmospheres while posing thought-provoking questions about morality, religion, and human nature. Brilliant performances by actors like Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, and Mahershala Ali further elevate the already intricate narratives. I admire Mark for what he has done, what he does on a daily basis and what he hopes to achieve in the future.
