Adults and children of 12 years and over:Use 2 - 5cm of gel (50 - 125mg of ibuprofen) on the affected area. Use every 4 hours, if you need to. It's an offence to drive a car if your ability to drive safely is affected. It's your responsibility to decide if it's safe to drive. If you're in any doubt, do not drive. Do not worry if you occasionally forget to use ibuprofen gel, mousse or spray, just carry on using it when you remember. If you put on too much ibuprofen gel, mousse or spray Aspirin works in a similar way to ibuprofen. Like ibuprofen, it's good for period pain and migraines. But if you have heavy periods, it can make them heavier. You or the person who's unwell may also have a rash that's swollen, raised, itchy, blistered or peeling.

Ibuprofen gel vs. tablets

you're breathing very fast or struggling to breathe (you may become very wheezy or feel like you're choking or gasping for air) Neonates, infants born prematurely, those with low birth weight, those with an unstable gastrointestinal function or who have serious illnesses may require special consideration. For any infant, if a drug is prescribed to the nursing mother, it should be at the lowest practical dose and for the shortest time. When drug administration is unavoidable and breastfeeding is to continue, minimisation of exposure of the infant to the drug may sometimes be achieved by timing the maternal doses to just after a feeding episode. Ibuprofen is combined with other painkillers in some products. It's an ingredient in some cold and flu remedies, such as Nurofen Cold and Flu. Consult your doctor before use if you are asthmatic, have active peptic ulcer, kidney problems or are taking aspirin or other pain killers. Ibuprofen can make you feel dizzy. You may need to take ibuprofen for longer if you have a long-term health problem, such as rheumatoid arthritis. Never use ibuprofen gel, mousse or spray on your eyes, mouth, lips, nose or genital area. It may make them sore. Do not put it on sore or broken skin. The dose should not be repeated more frequently than every four hours and no more than 4 times in any 24 hour period.
