About this deal

The sound performance is typical for the brand. The Soundcore P20i leans heavily on the bass and lower mid-tones. The bass power mostly comes from the mid-bass, which is powerful and punchy, but can at times rumble a bit too loosely or be a bit overbearing in songs already pushing the bass out of itself. Lower mid-tones are strong too, with hefty darker electronic tones and even some texture in bass guitars. Punchy Beats: With 10mm drivers that produce powerful, thumping bass and crisp trebles, you'll hear every detail of your songs on Life P3i. Although I found the Soundcore Life P3 very comfortable to wear, I did experience an annoying issue relating to their fit. Despite using the largest silicone eartips available, the earbuds would sometimes work themselves a little loose in my ears. Not to the point where they got anywhere close to falling out, but enough to affect their passive noise-cancelling seal. The Anker Soundcore Life P3i has a battery life equal to Life A3i, 9 hours on earbuds, and the charging case provide around 27 hours. Total is 36 hours. In the real experience once full charge on earbuds, the Life P3i wireless earbuds offer approximately 6 to 9 hours. Depend on the volume level and turning on/off the ANC feature. However; single earbuds can use separately. That means if you use one earbud, they provide up to 12 to 18 hours of playtime. That is enough for a long flight across over continent. Customizable EQ – With the Soundcore app, can select between its 22 EG settings, switch to sound modes or personalize your sound profile.

Transparency mode quality: The Transparency mode is mediocre. It puts through traffic noise and chatter when you need it, but only when you're not playing music, or playing music up to moderate volume. Cross that level, and the effect is gone. Like other models from the same brand, the Soundcore Life P3i aims to please many with its vast bass and full sound. There's some power behind the 11mm drivers, and it shows right out of the box. Much like the design resembles the Liberty Air 2 Pro, I would argue the sound is fairly consistent with it as well. The Air 2 Pro have a clearer sound profile that wards off distortion at higher volumes, whereas the Life P3 rumble just a little more, particularly in the lows and mids.

The charging case holds an additional 24 hours, giving it a max capacity of 35 hours. Again, a much higher amount to work with compared to the AirPods Pro charging case (24 hours). Anker added wireless charging for good measure. I tested these headphones while traveling, connecting to my iPhone and iPad and had really decent sound. The ANC is just ok, but I had no issues listening to music and watching Netflix. My one regret is that when you remove one of the ear buds the audio does not automatically stop which is a nice feature of the AirPods. You have to manually stop what you’re watching or listening to. BassUp is only available when using the Signature profile, which you may not find yourself using given there are 20 other EQ presets to choose from in the Soundcore app. There’s something for just about every genre, including Latin, Jazz, Pop and Piano.

Noise cancelling is hit and miss depending on the sound. I am guessing it depends on the frequency. It does an excellent job canceling out the noise from the AC air handler. Standing a couple feet from the intake vent, I actually had to remove one of the ear buds to be sure the AC was still running. So I am guessing this would be good on a plane too. When it comes to volume, the P3i can use a firmware upgrade on Android - as the maximum volume on Android devices may be a too soft for active listening. There's (already) plenty of volume on iPhone.

The AirPod pros are nearly perfect and in my opinion score a 9.5 out of 10 here — losing only a half a point for battery life. As for design and comfort, the Soundcore Life P3i also deliver there. You can leave them in for hours without feeling discomfort. The Soundcoure wireless earbuds might appear to be touch panels but are actual buttons. They’re nicely designed with a tactile feel. They are also much more convenient for your sweaty fingers. I don't know if is the weighting (they are barely noticable wearing them) or shape or my ears or what, but I've tried all the sizes of silicone buds, and they don't stay in all that great. It is fine when I'm working at my desk, or riding in a car, they don't randomly fall out. But, they do fall out way more often than I'd like. I might be chewing food - that is enough to have one fall out. Doing anything more active than walking the dogs one or the other is likely to fall out. I do sports photography and walking the sidelines is o.k., but if I stop and talk to someone, good chance one falls out. Maybe it is just my ears.
